Shape
Painting involves simplifying the design of the image into
clear shapes. Each shape is then wet with clear water and the watercolor
is dropped into the shape. The gradations and mixtures happen as the
wet puddle of color dries and affects the quality of each shape. The
result is a spare elegance and intrique within each form of the painting.
The work of Jeanne Dobie,
Linda Kemp
and Sari
Staggs have influenced my use of this effective and beautiful
technique.
