Born in New York City into a family of artists, Irina has been painting watercolors for over 20 years. From her frequent travels abroad and in the States, Irina's paintings cover a broad spectrum of subjects. Old World village scenes, winter landscapes, tropical and northern gardens, seascapes, and colorful fields of lavender and poppies are all subjects of her varied palette. Her unique sensual impressionistic style shimmers with energy, color and life.
Irina has studied with many well-known English and American artists: notably the late Irving Shapiro and Marshall Joyce as well as TM Nicholas, Don Stone and Bob Wade from Australia. In England she studied at the Mounts Bay Art School in Cornwall.
Her many solo exhibitions on both sides of the Atlantic have been in England and Germany as well as throughout New England and Florida. She is an associate member of the Rockport Art Association; exhibiting member of the North Shore Arts Association in Gloucester, MA; and a member of Academic Artist in Springfield, MA. She is also an exhibiting member of the Southern Vermont Arts Center in Manchester, VT. Presently, Irina's paintings can be seen the Luxton Jones Gallery in Shelburne, VT and at the Signature Gallery in West Hartford, CT.
Irina served as President of the Vermont Watercolor Society for three years. Her dynamic leadership tripled the membership and greatly enlarged the Society's exposure and activities by arranging for exhibits throughout the State and setting up workshops and special demonstrations with famous artists as guests.
