Watercolor has always been my favorite medium. The clear brilliance of the colors and their transparency add to the beauty of the pictures. These properties lend themselves to beautiful floral designs and radiant landscapes. Living and traveling in the New England area for many years has supplied me with an abundance of ideas for subjects. I graduated from North Dakota State University with a degree in Microbiology and chemistry. Although I worked in these fields professionally for years I have always had an interest in art in some form or another, such as designing clothing, needle art, quilting pottery, furniture building, and folk art.
I have studied with local artists Peter Huntoon and Barbara Parfume, as well as workshops with Tony Couch, Mel Stabin, and Janet Walsh. Recently I have studied still live oil painting with Thomas Torak.
I am a member of the Moon Brook/Night Owl Gallery in Rutland, Vermont and the Vermont Watercolor Society.
