About Our Group
The Vermont Watercolor Society was founded by a small group of painters in 1995. With almost 100 members today, VWS aims to extend the appreciation of transparent watercolor in all its diverse applications. Through demonstrations, workshops and outdoor painting days, members are encouraged to develop their work as artists - whether hobbyist or professional. Associate Members have the opportunity to exhibit in both juried and open shows in locations throughout the state. Acceptance in three Vermont Watercolor Society Juried shows in a five year period allows painters to become Signature Members of the Society. A quarterly newsletter and email correspondence informs members of upcoming meetings, demonstrations, exhibitions and other art-related events, including painting trips abroad. We invite you to Join our membership by sending $35 dues with three slides of your work if you are a resident of Vermont for at least six months of the year. Your membership enables you to be listed on our web site with an Enhanced page (contact our Webmaster for details), enter our 2005 Juried and Open shows and vote at our Annual Meeting in November. For more information about joining our group, click here. If you are a member and would like to showcase your work on this site, click here for more information, or please contact the webmaster.
